hi

I have 12 albino catfish, and i have just noticed eggs on the side of my tank.
I thought these catfish were not supposed to breed in a home aquarium?

how do i remove the eggs to save the fry?

helllppp

thanx in advance

I'll be the person that asks the burning question... What catfish?

I'm guessing Corys - and in that case they are one of the easier corys to breed ;)

sorry to be sceptical, but they get to 3ft long and, Although I have no experience with them and have not even looked on the net... I very much doubt they will breed at sizes I'm guessing they are in your tank.

Although if you have a big tank and they are also big - good luck :)

Any pictures?

Spawning takes place in early spring and the nests are constructed under rocks or caves with the parents guarding the young.

Sounds very unlikely that they are channel catfish if they put their eggs on the side of your aquarium. Can we see pictures of them, to indentify the fish you're talking about ourselfs?

That would be an adult albino channel catfish.

thanks Erised... My point entierly.

Are you suer they are channel cats?

I had one of them myself for a time once before he went into a big indoor pond and they aren't sexually mature until they're bigger then that.

They are most likely not the eggs from the fish you mentioned, but if you have corys or snails in the tank the eggs are most likely theirs- what do the eggs look like i.e color and size?
