Albino Bristlenose Eggs

Day 8; New best count of three fry being visible at the same time. One has a bend in his tail and has been named 'kinky', so it looks like I've already got a defective underdog favourite

32 days after the first clutch of 3 babies emerged from Mr Bristlies' shell house; another clutch has emerged.

I can't believe how much the original 3 must have grown over that 30 day period. They are double the length of the new arrivals at least, and are considerably more massive.

Rubbish photo taken from down the back corner of the tank, but I'll be lucky to catch three together like this again tonight. The 32nd day baby is much nearer the camera, but you can get the gist of the size differences involved.

L325 / Jari Blue Ancistrus

Recieved my future next chapter in Winkle's Adventures in L-Number Land today.

4xL325 Jari Blue Ancistrus arrived from Andrew Coxon in a fabulous polybox. They are from two batches; all four share the same father but two are from one female and two are from another. Providing that they don't all turn out to be the same sex (would be just my luck!) I should end up with a pair of half-siblings. They are all from wild caught parents so they should be nice and genetically diverse.

No photos yet unfortunately but even with a good camera it's supposed to be hard to get the metallic blue spots to show up well, so my rubbish camera phone wouldn't stand a chance. Basically a black bristlenose (some have hints of dark brown/grey banding at the moment) with electric/metallic/irridescent blue spotting (most dense/boldest on the pectoral fins) and a nice band of the same blue along the edge of the caudal/tail fin. Lovely fish!

Albino Bristlenose

The latest batch of wrigglers is 20+ in number! A huge jump up from the last batch of 3!

Jari Blues are all settled in really well. I could see all four of them out at the same time earlier, they've started munching courgette and I caught the two smallest ones (1"ish in total length) together on the front glass after lights out so I snapped a quick, shoddy photo.

More baby albino bristlies today; that makes it three batches.

32 days for the first interval,
27 days for this interval.

It doesn't look like there is as many this time round. Yet.
