Hey guys,
Since I've now seen my Albino Bristlenose breed and lay twice I'm looking into setting up a 10 gallon breeder tank (30 gallon grow out). I'm looking for any insight towards fry safe filters, sand vs. bare bottom and anything else to add.
Thanks, Ajs2294

Sponge filters are always a winner with fry although never used them with plecos myself, i'd say either bare bottom or sand would be fine, both are easy to clean it would just go down to preference :good:

Only thing with sponge filters is the noise. Are yours quite? if so how do you make them quite mine always to form big noisy bubbles

i use a fluval 3 plus in a 60ltr tank and i just slip a foot off a pair of tights over the filter to stop the fry from getting inside
if you decide to use a cover over a filter make sure its new and not been washed with a detergent as well

I just added them to the tank and all is going well. The only thing is the buggers seem to be destroying the sponge filter.... any ideas on how to prevent this?
