I thought this deserves a separate thread.
I noticed my albino and gold laser corys interbreeding the last few times but never got the camera ready on time to catch them on video. Before I got the gold laser corys, all the albino eggs that hatched were albino for some reason.
The last couple of times I started having black eyed fry so I looked and bang, albino mama and gold laser dady. I never knew they can interbreed

Here is a video of the T-position and the albino mama dropping the eggs between her fins straight after:

And here are a couple of pictures of the offspring of the spawn from about a couple of weeks ago:

Yeah, I thought that too but then I got some new information that they are closely related to Corydoras melanotaenia, not aeneus.
Who knows, the fish certainly don't know it :look:

I hope you'll be keeping the offspring & not letting them go to Lfs as interbreeding is not a good idea

I haven't really tried interbreeding them, they did it themselves. If it's as easy as that, trust me those hybrids have sneaked out from people's tanks already without them even realizing. Cory breeders have kept mixed species all the time. And no, I am not giving them away. I don't breed fish just to give them away to the LFS.

i also had a lecture on interbreeding...i dont even breed corys!! some people like to lecture on here eh?! i say...good on ya and i the cory fancies a change ;) so be it! :good: plus i like your baby cory videos
