Airstones - Plastic vs Actual Stones

Just wondering which ones are better.?
Plastic air stones normally comes in colorful colors or the actual Hairston that comes in granite color or should I say dull gray.

I don't see any performance impact between both but what about expert views love to hear it out.

I'd go for the stone ones. They just seem nicer to me. Not sure if it makes a big difference.

I would go with stone, that’s what I always use.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a plastic one though?

All mines are plastic base ... but yeah I was thinking more of a round shape stones .. emmm something like this one ..

I replaced my stone ones for the weighted plastic ones with replaceable disks.
They are so much better. Also adjustable which is handy.

Plastic all the way! They never clog and are much easier on your air pump, less likely to cause wear and tear on it due to pressure from a clogged stone.I even managed to find ones in a decent color, none of those garish lego colors. Got mine from Aquarium Co-Op, online.
