Air stone

I got a t adapter for my air pump, and in one plug goes my sponge filter and the other goes the air stone. But for some reason the t filter seems to bring down the air supply to both items, so that they don't work at the same time. What could be the problem? I was thinking either the air pump is too weak, or there is a leak somewhere in the t adapter

According to their website, that pump is rated for a 5 gallon aquarium, so it is probably designed to run only one device. I would try pinching the hose of the device that is running to see if you can get the other one to run along with it. Sometimes all that is required is a little extra pressure to push the water out of the line or stone to get it started.
