Air Stone...does One Like This Exist?

Hi,

I've just got a tank (not my first, it's been a while though), so whilst I'm waiting for the filter to mature, I'm just looking at deco and plants etc.

I was just wondering. Does there exist an air stone that produces "Air Rings" instead of loads of tiny little bubbles?

I know this would go against the whole point of having an air stone... as it wouldn't really aerate the water.

So it would be more of a decoration. I just thought it would look nice!

surely though, couldn't you block the center of a huge air stone? so bubble rings are made?

Unfortunately it's not that simple, since air naturally tries to form spheres in water you have to create a vortex to maintain the ring shape. So you would get a ring of normal bubbles but not a single ring shaped bubble.
