Air Pump/stone Regulating?

is there any way to control the amount of air that a pump is giving out? i have a rena air 50, and find that it is giving out a heck of a lot of air. I amusing a 2.5inch airstone along the back of a 10gal tank, and it just seems like so much air. lol
also, are there any quieter air pumps than rena? Mine is still too noisy.

Yor LFS will stock special valves to control the output of your airline. I have never found a really quite pump. Try sitting it on polyestierine.

my lfs doesnt seem to have much right now at all. grrr. I'll have to go into the city and see what I can find.
as for my air pump, it is sitting on my carpeting at the moment. i figured it couldnt make that much noise on the carpet.

If you take a T piece and another air stone and use a strong clip over the second piece of airline you could control the air that way but it is difficult.

The idea is to set it up to bleed a little of the air off.

Like this. You will have to imagine there is an airstone on the end of the line as I couldn't find one. It will work like this but will be noisy.
