I saw this air pump shelf that hangs off the back of an aquarium. Does anyone use these? Do they make the pump more noisy?

I never heard or saw one of them.

Can you post link to someone who is selling them.

Seems that it maybe good idea if it does not vibrate the tank :D :D

Here's one: http://store.worldpetstore.com/worldpets/expandaself.html

I can't imagine how it wouldn't vibrate the tank at least a little. Right now I'm on the hunt for a giant jar so I can hang the dang pump in it and maybe get it less noisy. It's not the pump itself, it's the vibration of the thing it's sitting on. It's not a very sturdy surface but I don't have room on the table that is holding my tank.

why dont you put your pump into a sock?
Put it in a sock and then..hang it? Or just set it on the shelf? The thing my pump sits on is a set of those plastic rubbermaid type drawers so it REALLY vibrates like crazy. Plus there isn't much room up there so it's impossible to keep it from touching things. Do you put yours in a sock? If so what do you do with the sock?

If your having trouble with your noisy pump, u may need to find a new, more stable stand, to stop it vibrating so much.

When i had mine below my tank (which i shouldnt have i know) i put my beenie underneath it. This moved with the pump and stopped alot of vibrating. I treid putting it in a sock, but my pump got ultra HOT. so it may not be a wise idea!

Ok thanks-I won't put it in a sock. I do have mine below my tank level too but have a check valve in the line to keep water from going into the pump. I don't have room for a more sturdy surface there so that's why I was going to try the hanging-pump-in-a-jar method.

I used to have one years ago on my freshwater tank and it created alot of noise. If you can help it is would not get one honestly.
