Hello
I am new to all this. I have been given an aqua one aquamode 600 tank (65L glass semicircular) and have been wanting to keep some tropical fish for some time. I have a few small questions
1. - Which heater is in your opinions the best
2. - Do I need an air stone / air pump. The tank has a built in wet dry trickle filter.
3. - I fancy some small angelfish - are these suitable?

Any other advice very gratefully recieved.
Thanks
Shaun

hello and welcome to TFF and fishkeeping :D

1 - just don't go for the cheapest, no specific makes but make sure it's got a good adjuster for the thermostat.

2 - can you adjust the filter outlet? if you can move it so it breaks the surface of the water then no, if not then maybe

3 - no, they don't stay small, they need a tank at least 40 us gallons (yours is about 18) and 18" deep.

As a first point of call you need to learn about the nitrogen cycle, look at the fishless cycling post at the top of this forum :good:

Hi,

In my view the Visitherm brand are the best, I have used many heaters and they seem
to be the most reliable. Trickle filters generate a lot of oxygen on their own so you probably wont
need an airpump. You can't keep Angels in your tank. Keep some small community species in your
setup such as Corydoras and some small barbs/danios/tetras or rasboras.

Thanks

Mike
