I have my tank in the same room I sleep in. I know you can't use spray ones in the same room as the tank but would I be able to use one of the smelly jelly things or the plug in ones? Obviously this still creates something in the air so was worried it might still be able to get into the tank.
Also what about candles? I quite like having candles going so do these also get into the tank?
I have a dog and she can get a bit smelly at times haha! Even worse is when my BF orders pizza, it stinks the place out

Thanks sorry its a random question!

I know this is a bit more money than candles and sprays but I have a small room air purifier. It plugs in and you change the filter every 4 months. It's fab for removing all smells and takes dust and dander out of the air as well. Since using them in my entire house, my allergies have gone away! The unit is made by Bionaire.

its a good question - if you do a search on common ingrediants in plug ins, air fresheners, candle etc (sad, but I just did) you may well be very surprised  some of these candles, plug ins, have ammonia, nitrItes, chlorine etc, so if they are wafting into the air and your skimmer etc is sucking them in..........

Any polar molecules released by these things will dissolve into your tank, they're probably no good for your health too.

I best stop wearing Lynx too then.

Pretty strong stuff apparently - still awaiting those fallen angels mind....

Haha, just use any aerosols in a room other than the one your aquarium is situated in and you should be fine.

i would not like to be in your house then

:p dove stick, no yucky roll-ons or aersols, Mr Fishy!!!! So, my house is quite safe, well that is unless Mr Seffie has been in the bathroom

 and thinking about that, I once had a really unpleasant young man, who thought it was very funny to make the most disgusting smells and noises in the classroom - class thought it was soooo very funny until I told them what they were breathing in  they soon got him to stop!
