most of my 2day old fry are turning their belly up but when i scare them they swim away. im scared theyre just like floating on the surface on their backs or side n not moving.
i have an air pump for the tank but i dont think the current is too strong.
but the thing is...in the morning the temperature was 72  so i raised it to 80 now. are they doing that because of coldness? water quality? why are they not rightside up? they also dont eat anything i give them

1. Check your water parameters and post them here. That might explain the problems that you're having.

2. Do you see any signs of disease?

3. Are they in the tank with any other fish? If so, what kind/s?

4. What are you feeding them?

I feed my fry Liquifry on the first couple of days, then Hikari "First Bites" for the next 2 weeks or so, and then I feed them finely crushed Hikari tropical flakes. It might be that the food you're offering them is to big for them to eat.

1. i dont have test kits

2.no

3.no

4.crushed nutrafin tropical flake food.

i only have 6 live ones left! :byebye:

What size tank are they in? How many water changes are you doing and how often? It could be ammonia poisening. You need to get a test kit a.s.a.p. You also need to get them some liquifry and/or Hikari "First Bites". Two day old fry are definitely not large enough to eat crushed flakes.

sounds like swim bladder trouble to me. with as much food as you're trying to feed them its probably a water quality issue. throw in a snail snail with the next batch and try to keep the water extra clean.

another cause for swim bladder issues is if the air bubbles from your airstone are too fine. are you using a wooden block or similar? fine bubbles can be ingested by fry and disrupt their swim bladder.

the best you can do now is water changes and prayer. better luck next time.

I would highly recommend a test kit, it is the best 30 dollar investment you can make for your fish, and will last quite a while.
