After much trial, tribulation, grinding of teeth, and swearing... my tank is finally cycled. I got myself some ghost shrimp today and am in the process of acclimating them to their new environment.
Which means... I can add one of my bettas now.
The current in there is fairly gentle with the intake silghty obstructed with some bogwood, and the air bubbler turned off. I may gangvalve the air bubbler later and turn it back on.
Aaaah, I hope the little bugger likes it. He better like it.
Do you think I should add him tonight or tomorrow after I'm sure the shrimp are settled in?

the only uninvited guests in the tank right now, are those little tiny worms that look like bits of threads whose name i can never remember, but fish happily call 'lunch'.
