I don't recommend that site, they make recommendations without taking into account many variables. It is fine as a starting point, but don't, by any means, end there.
i setup the tank last night, and it is still quite cloudy, but i think that is partially due to the fact that the filter i bought was missing some pieces
i will take it back and get a new one tonight and it should clear up pretty quickly...

so i got the filter replaced and the tank seems to be clearing up nicely, i havent done anything in the way of cycling it yet, except for the filter media that i kept in my community tank's filter for 3 days...
i need a power strip too, b/c im running out of plugs
ill keep you all posted, but it wil be quite a while before i get anything in the tank... i also need to do a test.
do you all use some kind of cichlid buffer? i have crushed coral sand, red and black slate and 4 shells to provide some buffering at this point.
