So as I mentioned in a prior topic I've got an empty 2.5 gallon tank and someone suggested I try African Dwarf frogs. While I can find plenty of literature on care of these, I was wondering if
1. someone could suggest how many will fit in a 2.5 gallon tank
2. if anyone here who owns some could give me suggestions for things like what to feed and any problems that I could expect.

Also, would adding a couple of ghost shrimp be advisable too, or would this take up too much room?
Thanks all

Hi rsog2000 :)

African Dwarf Frogs are great little pets and 2 or 3 of them would live like royalty in your tank.

They are very easy to care for. They love live or frozen blackworms, bloodworms or tubifex worms and you can also buy a tiny pellet for them, called "Frog Bites," made by HBH.

Here's a link to a pinned thread which you might find interesting:

Just make sure when you buy them that you're buying African Dwarf Frogs and NOT African Clawed Frogs -- often times the LFS will mis-label them. Clawed Frogs can get quite large and would outgrow your 2.5 gallon.

I've wanted to do a tank with just ADF -- they're so cute! Good luck and take pics when you get it set up!! :)

Shall do! It'll still be a few weeks but once I get everything set up I'll take a few pics.
