African Dwarf Frogs

can anyone tell me if its ok to feed a african dwarf frog bloodworm pellets

yeah ive seen vids on utube, but the ones ive seen they was feeding theres frozen or live bloodworms, and i just wanted to be sure that the bloodworm pellets are just gd for them.

Bloodworm, whether live, frozen or dried, should only be fed once a week as a treat, the same as for most community fish. Many people say to feed them only blood worm, but they really need a prepared specialist frog food such as HBH frog and tadpole food (in the USA) or ZooMed frog food (UK). There may well be other makes too. These provide them with all the nutrition they need, bloodworm alone can't provide everything. I'm in the UK and couldn't find the ZooMed food in any shops so I had to buy it on-line.

how aften should i feed the hbh pellets? as i dont want to be over feeding the frog. and how many pellets at atime should i give him? (havnt got the frog yet, hes on order)

It's hard to say without seeing the size of the pellets. I usualy feed slightly less than the bottle says with all fish (and frog) food. Young frogs feed once a day, adult frogs once every two days.

Will your frog be going in a tank on its own or in with fish?

No you are thinking of AFrican Clawed frogs, African Dwarf frogs are much smaller and an all round more delicate species

Cece, keeping adf's with fish is rarely successful unless fish are very carefully selected and tank is a suitable size for the frog, (in this case not too big/tall) in most cases the frogs become starved as they struggle to compete for food

In that case you need to feed the frog carefully. They are almost blind and find their food by smell. The problem with that is by the time they find it the fish have eaten everything. Frogs often starve to death when in the same tank as fish. You will need to target feed the frog using a turkey baster or something like that to put the food right under its nose, and watch to make sure it gets the food before a fish sneaks in.

I have an ADF in my 10g aquarium with fish. At first, I made sure to plunk some food right down by his nose, and he ate fine. I made sure to do that right before I distracted the fish with their own food, lol (since I wasn't using a baster, I did it by hand, and the flakes on my arm was kind of yucky). Now I just make sure to get some of his food down where I know he likes to hang out, and he finds it eventually, without much fish interference. He also goes after flakes that get pushed to the floor by the filter current. Pretty much anything that's moving, he jumps after lol.

Also, I crush the frog food first (it's small nuggets, but not small enough for his mouth, and soft/moist, so crushing it doesn't mean powder, it just means easier for him to bite chunks off).
