I was wondering if it would be possible to keep these curious little creatures with shrimp?

I would think they would be fine with adult shrimp, as they would be nearly as large as the frogs, and the shrimp are peaceful. I understand that the babies would be consumed, but with enough planting some would survive.

Opinions, or experience?

If not then I'll just set up a ten-gallon.

I would say no. These frogs will stuff anything alive into their mouths. A one inch frog will happily grab a 3 inch worm, swallow as much as it as possible, and then swim around with the rest hanging out its mouth until the first bit has been digested, and then swallow another inch. These frogs have no teeth, so this way of feeding is natural to them...

I have had ADFs with amano shrimp and now they are living with cherry shrimp... including baby cherry shrimp, my frogs have never touched them I think if you keep them well fed they are too lazy to try to chase after live food... although the cherry shrimp often sit right next to the frogs and they still show no interest!

Yup, Lola – we all have different experiences. I have a horrifying mixture of stuff in my 4 foot community tank – a blue lobster, kribs, and electric yellows living side-by-side with neons, corys, banjo cats, and long-arm shrimps – it should not work, but it does. Go figure..! (Maybe they know that they are living in a Buddhist home..?)

ADFs are mostly peaceful, even to shrimp. The ACFs are the ones that eat everything and anything.

I'll set up the ten gallon for them, and introduce some shrimp. If they don't bother them I guess they will be OK with them.

they will work 100%. i have 2 adf in a like 5 gallon tank with 2 guppies and some ghost shrimp. they have never even jumped at each other. they go together as good as any and they help when feeding because the shrimp get the food the frogs miss.

Hate to go off topic, but I looked at your sig, and I'm wondering, how large is your pleco? Depending on what species he is he may soon need a 75 gallon tank.

I used to have ADFs, and I never saw them go after a shrimp once. Well, that's not quite true. When they smell food in the water, they can go kinda crazy, and snap at anything. One chased around a bamboo shrimp far larger than himself around the tank, repeatedly snapping at his tail. It was amusing to watch, and didn't do anything but annoy the shrimp.

But generally I got shrimplets in my ADF tanks. I think they can accidentally eat cherries, but they seldom do. Honestly I have no idea how African Dwarf Frogs survive in the wild.
