the title pretty much says it all. im researching cherry shrimp since im wanting to start breeding them soon and i was just wondering if i could have anything else in the tank, like an african dwarf frog. or would it eat the baby shrimp? im thinking of using a 5.5 gallon tank. any thoughts on a tank mate for the cherries or should i just leave it as a little shrimp world with maybe a few malaysian trumpet snails on the side to stir up the substrate?

It would go after the babies and possibly the adults as well, but they stay quite small so I think the chance of it actually eating an adult is low.

Basically it's a risk.

ok, i guess ill just leave it as a shrimp habitat. thanks for the advice. by the way, it occurred to me that the water out of the tap might contain copper traces do to copper piping (i dont know if i have copper piping but i dont want to take the risk). since copper kills shrimp should i get a reverse osmosis filter to cure water in a separate container before adding it to my shrimp tank? i only ask because iv never been able to keep ghost shrimp alive for more than a few months and until just now i never really figured out a good reason why except that maybe my water temp was off too much. is there any other way to get copper out?

yes, i was wonder myself, dont ppl have copper piping all the time and successfully keep shrimp? i mean, could it really cause a problem?
