I added a juvenile female ADF to a divided cycled 10-gallon tank back in February. Because she was so small, her section was only 2-3 gallons. In March her section was increased to 5 gallons. In April, the divider was taken down. She and the female Betta are great friends. It's a joy to watch them play together.
As the ADF acquired more real estate, she became more active and more confident. In 2-3 gallons she survived just fine. But, in 10 gallons she thrives!
