African Butterfly Fish

My ABF loves meal worms (those are hard to float) and large crickets :D He Used to eat FD krill, but he's become a little pickier lately :dunno:

We couldn't find any crickets or grasshoppers but found some small beetles - she didn't even look at them - the rest of the fish ate them instead!!!

Yep, that's the photo I took of her... she actually has shiny golden "stripes" down her sides that don't really show up in the photo, beautiful fish!

Going to my parents farm today to see if I can find some small grasshoppers!

oo scary!!! i would soooooo not try to feed my fish insects from a farming area! they are almost guaranteed to have pesticide on them!

pretty much any petstore carrying lizards will have crickets for sale. i'd just go buy some of those. i used to have newts that would only eat a couple of 1/4 inch crickets at a time. easily 50% of the time, when i'd ask for 4 or 5 crickets, i'd *get* 6 to 10 at no extra charge. excess crickets are pretty easy to keep too and you can "gut-load" them if you ever have something special to feed your baby.

again, beautiful finneage.
