African Butterfly Fish

My fish seem to have taken a liking to flakes and bloodworms. The Limnophila isn't floating, I have just let it keep growing in the corner of the tank for cover. It grows like crazy in most conditions and soon reaches the surface and bushes out everywhere. It would be fine in that kind of lighting, the plant in the pictures is in a tank with a 40W bulb. :)

Cool Ryan.

ABF rock,

But be carefull.

HE WIll star trying to leap at his reflection once his Gliders have developed.

Make sure you have no Surface Fish, as anything that swims in front of him is fair game if it is small enough.

crazie.eddie the plants are Limnophila aquatica a very fast growing and easy species. They have mouths like trap doors and wil eat anything that fits inside it.

lucky62, they are currently in with a 7" Gibbiceps but in a few weeks he will be moved and the tank will have Peacock Eels and Mogurnda Mogurnda Gobies and maybe some Banjo Catfish. I will also be adding two more African Butterfly fish an attempt to breed them. They reach about 4" and just need a neutral PH and low nitrate levels.
so I might be able to get one to keep with my son's mogurnda ?

Yes, I am getting three to go with my four. But I wouldn't put they with a Juwel Cichlid.

they're beautiful ryan  I've always wanted one or two
Why not get two to go with the Eel and Angels? ;)
Hee Heee...OK!!! You talked me into it! (easy, aren't I?)

My lfs gets them in every now and then and I always drool over them, then the employees steer me away by saying "they jump, you don't want those" and I'm like.....awww,I don't?

They're beautiful, I'd love some

You should get some for sure Wuv, they are great. If you provide some tall or floating plants they tend not to jump and if they do all you need is a tight cover. You wait until you seem them feed, its great  Ignore the lfs people and buy them  .

Good Luck, can't wait to see the pics :p
