They haven't been feed yet, new arrivals. But tonight they have a menu of Blood worm freeze dried/frozen, flakes, live blood worms and some small crickets. :)

Hi Ryan - those can't be very easy to photograph. You did a great job. How large are they? They look wonderful. No tunnels or caves need to be providid huh?

ALASKA

They aren't the best fish to photograph but I'm giving it a go. Here are some more ;)

they're beautiful ryan  I've always wanted one or two
Why not get two to go with the Eel and Angels? ;)

I have one with my Lobster and they are really cool fish and I love them. The lobster gets on fine with the ABF and vice versa. Good luck with your two and wuvmybetta, you should get one. Awesome fish and you will not regret buying them (unless you have fish that stay at the top and are really small) :/

Glad to say they feed just now. Gobled down some freeze dried and frozen bloodworms, that trap door of a mouth can move like lightning when it wants. :)

Yeah, mine still scare the crap out of me during feeding time. I drop flakes by it's face and WOOSSHH. It's gone in a blink of an eye.

BTW, what kind of plants are those?

FYI, your AFB will probably also eat fish flakes and small fish. I didn't realize mine were interested in fish, but I got suspicious when a fe cardinal tetras started dissapearing on me. Also a few young guppies I put in the tank also vanished. Afer witnessing it grab a young guppy, I moved it out of the cardinal tetra/pl*co 37 gallon tank back to the 55 gallon tank with the angelfish and clown loaches.

nice pictures Ryan , what other fish if any do you keep them with ? How big will they get ? Are they dificult to care for ?

crazie.eddie the plants are Limnophila aquatica a very fast growing and easy species. They have mouths like trap doors and wil eat anything that fits inside it.

lucky62, they are currently in with a 7" Gibbiceps but in a few weeks he will be moved and the tank will have Peacock Eels and Mogurnda Mogurnda Gobies and maybe some Banjo Catfish. I will also be adding two more African Butterfly fish an attempt to breed them. They reach about 4" and just need a neutral PH and low nitrate levels.

Yes, I know they have mouth like trapdoors. Plus, mine never really cared for crickets so I assumed it never cared for live fish anyways. Besides, I just thought the fish were too big for it. I was wrong :D

Anyway, your Limnophila aquatica, they seem to be free floating? Is that correct? Is it a lowlevel light (typical 40 watt aquarium lighting) plant?
