Aeration During Cycle

Undergoing a mini cycle at mo due to change over from gravel to sand.

Ive read conflicting reports ref aeration (Im thinking bubble walls here).
Some say aeration is a big help when cycling, others say that aeration dosent put more oxygen into the water its just for pretty bubbles/show?

I have 2 air pumps that I can set up with a 8" bubble wall stone on each, would they be beneficial in anyway?

Airstones do add more aeration to the tank.
Fish find it hard to breath in cycling tanks thats why you have to increase aeration.
I suppose there are some pro's and cons but I always buy a good air pump.
