Ae Design Combo Packs

Afternoon all, Hope you're all well?
I'm confused......Why do AE Design sell a combo pack of their liquid Carbon and Nourish Standard and not Nourish Plus ? I thought if you were adding Carbon to your tank you needed to add a fertiliser with NPK too, which Plus has!
Does this not apply when adding liquid Carbon then?

Your right and I don't know why, I just buy them anyway, one of the cheapest ferts around, plus you generally get more for your money.

Would you miss out on a lot by not having a fert with NPK in it when adding liquid carbon? Is NPK only really necessary for yeast/pressurised CO2?

Its necessary for any CO2 or carbon supplement as dosing any of these makes the plants photo synthesize faster and the N&P produced by waste in your tank wont be enough to fertilise the plants for long so we dose it to avoid plant deficiencies. If you don't want to dose it and have low enough lighting you could always go for regular nourish and no carbon/CO2?

Real shame. AE's Combo seemed easily the cheapest way of obtaining quality liquid fert and carbon. Makes no sense they don't provide a combo of the carbon & plus!! I'd pay a few quid more for it if they did!! Oh well, I have relatively low light wattage so may just stick with a bottle of the standard Nourish and no carbon....it's still the cheapest.

I thought that the nourish plus contained everything that the nourish standard did, with added NPK? If dosing with the plus, do you have to dose with the standard too then (if adding carbon)??? Suddenly not so cheap at all!!!!

You're right Steveo and to be fair they do sale a combo of all 3 and it still works out cheaper than both TPN+ and Excel.
Do you really have to dose the Standard & Plus together though when adding liquid carbon? Surely they contain the same stuff, except NPK?

Cool, cheers mate. So you do need the nourish standard & plus with their carbon! Think i'm gonna go for a standard bottle of the nourish to start with and get some plus and carbon if/when i up my light wattage.
It does work out cheaper than buying other products for sure. I'll post how it works out when i get some.

Yeah that's correct mate, I use all 3 in one of my tanks and pressurised CO2 in the other 2 and its good stuff.

A quick update on this - AE looks to have have re-branded so the Neutro range will be replacing the AE design gear. So they're back to the more familiar Carbon, Trace and Complete style.
Neutro CO2 and Neutro+ will be the ones to go for with Neutro T for your low techs.

Noticed this too No need for 3 bottles now when dosing AE's carbon and fert. Nice
