What is the adviseable amount of hours for the lighting of a small reef tank

I get up at 7am and usually put lights on then and got to bed bout midnght and put lights out then

17 hours seems a long time to me and could that actually be detrimental to the coral

Yip 17 is a bit to long mine turn on at 14:00 then go to moonlights at 22:00 then all of at 23:00 to much lighting can cause algae issues 8 - 10 hours is the norm and corals like routine so a timer would be advised ;)

My Light cycle
Aquarays on @ 12.30 off at 13.35 {one all blue one blue and white}
150w 14k halide on@ 13.30 0ff at 20.30
Aquarays on @ 20.25 off @ 22.30
Very low blue moon,s {leds} on @ 22.25 off at 12.35
Sump light on 24/7

I have my lights on for 12 hours, 9am - 9pm. I would love to have them on or a shorter amount of time, but it's not very possible with my schedule and with feeding etc. :(
