Ok so the RT female was sold, not being sent out for 2weeks due to working 2weeks without a day off, but the fella is fine with his, and has advised me on a date for sending her

however the person who won the other 2, hasnt contacted me since i emailed them 4 days ago to advise them postage was not going to be feesable for 2weeks, and could they advise me on a date

still no answer, should i refund their money and keep back the 2 girls, baring in mind this is the person who wants to dump one of the girls in with a male and breed with no prep or idea on it

plzzz help :)

Did you say in your listing that you woudn't be able to send them for 2 weeks?? If not then he may be having a re-think.....I would keep sending gentle reminders everyday and see if you get a response from him. I had to wait quite a while to get a date off someone for sending before, so I would hang on a bit longer before sending any money back.

no it did say in my advert that we would have to agree and suitable time, up till this point i wasnt aware i was notgoing to be having a day off for 2 weeks :(

u not having time off is a bit negligible. i understand... but u must cater as a reputable seller and make time to fulfill what you have made a responsibility.

as netty said, keep business-like and offer reminders. once you have certain you will not receive a response, simply point out that you have attempted to contact that person and kindly explain the refund before your mention holding the fish.

just stay polite and dont say anything that will trigger a negative response. but be honest.

hard to say cuz you are informed on the situation fully. keep in mind you haven't done anything wrong but you have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Hiya

There could be any number of reasons for not getting a reply, internet problems, illness etc.... The thing is, if the buyer has bought fish from ebay before, they would have assumed that "agreeing a suitable time" meant agreeing a day to receive the fish. They probably didn't think there would be a 2 week delay. Unfortunately, some people will leave negative feedback in cases like this particularly if they paid promptly. I dont know, but look at it from the buyers point of view, they win an item, pay immediately, then get a message saying the item cant be dispatched for 2 weeks. Sorry but i'd be pretty miffed if it was me.

Thing is, if you gotta work, you gotta work. So i dont know what the answer is, all depends on how the buyer feels.

the advert clearly stated that a date to send out must be agreed by both sides, the other chap is happy to wait, infact it works in his favour

but the other messaged me saying send it monday to here ,,,,,,

that was it, no plz no thank you nothing, ive sent several mails asking them how they would like me to proceed, unfortunately i didnt put them up for sale knowing i wasnt going to have a day off, it happened after the auction had finished when my manager told me i was working 6days a week with a sunday off for 2weeks, so i can hardly help it can i

but regardless, my understanding of it, is even if i was able to send this week, and email back to confirm with me that i was deffo sending it out on such and such day would have been nice, they didnt even do that

tbh i dunno if its coz im tired, but i feel a few negative vibes towards me over this, and im not really happy tbh, i just asked advice of what to do, wasnt my fault work got screwed and now i feel like a complete asshole

cheers guys

(as i said maybe im reading this wrong as im very tired)

Go to bed hun, and have another read in the morning :)

What the buyer has to remember is that this is fish we are dealing with, you can't just pack the item up and ask someone to post for you, it has to be done properly. If I were you, I would send an email explaining exactly what has happened (if you haven't already) and apologising for the delay. Tell them you appreciate the prompt payment and will be leaving good feedback. Tell them when your next day off in the week is, and ask if that is suitable for them, and also offer to refund them with no negative feedback if they cannot wait that long. This way, you have done everything you can to keep the buyer happy. :)

Night night xx

thing is tibby they only sent the payment sunday, and then a brash mail telling me to send it monday, not asking and checking that it was feesible with me

ive just had an email asking where the fish are, and it annoys me bcoz i sent several, messages ever since sat telling her that ive just been screwed at work, and i dont have a day off for 2weeks

ive kept asking them how they would like me to proceed, would they like me to refund them, or hold the fish for 2 weeks

im making such an effort and im pissed off being told i was negligable, when its hardly my fault i didnt find out till sat that i wasnt having days off

I think the trouble is is that there is so much dodgy stuff going on on Ebay you have to seem professional so as not to get a black mark against you as people expect fast delivery of items. If you had sold them on here then things are alot more more personal and friendly as buyers would "know" you and so trust you. If I was the person on Ebay who had bought them off you I would now be worried that I was about to be ripped off( If I didnt know who you were that is lol!) but it doesnt excuse their lack of response as you are trying to sort the situation out.
I would keep sending them polite messages every other day and if there is no response after a week give them 48 hours to respond or else you feel you will have to refund their money and relist the fish.

i emailed them sat eve after i was aware of my lack of days off, explained the situation to them.... heard nothing

sunday they send me payment for the fish, and an email telling me send it monday

baring in mind id emailed them the night before explaining what had happened with regards to 2weeks of no days off

ive emailed them several times since, asking what they would like me to do, and they havent bothered to reply

then today i get asked where her fish are, when ive already told her over and over, to contact me as i cannot send for 2weeks

im doing my bloody best here, and as i said i hardly think it was negligable, considering the 2weeks with no day off was due to the asst managers wife just having her baby, so hes just had to take time off

so next time ppl wana get funny with me, maybe ask me 1st before telling me i was negligable and i should fulfill my order

well if i could have done i would, not exactly my fault

1,2,3,4,5..........10 :good: Dont take things so personally Phoe :good:

I think the point people were making is, that in business the needs of the buyer out weighs the sellers needs. I know you're not selling for business purposes, but selling is selling. Remz comment about "negligable" was probably meaning, that in the eyes of the buyer they only have your word that you are having to work at short notice, and dont forget they probably have never heard of you before. Like already said, there are some dodgy sellers out there that do use excuses.

From a personal view though - as you know we sell bettas on Ebay sometimes, as do other people on here. A lot of people are put off from buying through ebay because of problems. So you do have to think, it may not be a big deal for you that you cant send for 2 weeks, but to the buyer it might be. And the potential Ebay buyers, its the type of thing that puts them off.

I not getting at you, just trying to explain why these comments were made. :D :D

couldnt you package up the fish the night before and mail it on your lunch break? ive dont that bring them to work then jump over the the post office on lunch,, or maby package it up ad drop it off with a friend the night before, just make sure you allready have the postage done or give a friend the money to do it?? just a thought cause no offence when i buy somthig off online it is expected to get to me in a reasonable amount of time,, telling a buyyer they paid for somthing then it wont even be shiped for 2 weeks then waiting for the fish to actually get there,, i would be pissed cause i would feel somthing<fishey> is going on.

ok, i have to stick up for pheonixbaby here. i have been in the position of the buyer here, i bought some indian almond leaves off ebay, and after winning and paying, i recieved an email saying that due to excessive demand they had run out and new supplies were not quite ready yet, and that it would be about 2 weeks before my item was sent out.

now personally i think this is much worse than pheonixbaby's situation, as they simply should not have placed the listing, if they did not have the stock to cover it! but i accepted that these things happen at times. i was suspicious, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. if the leaves had not arrived within the specified time period i would have complained/ opened a paypal dispute etc. but as it turned out they arrived on time. yes its annoying that they have to wait, and i agree with the comment saying offer them the chance to back out of the sale and receive a full refund if they are not willing to wait that long. but this was not a deliberate or malicious act.

i would also add, that pheonixbaby, i hope you have been sending a copy of all emails sent, to yourself as well. if this turns nasty, you need to be able to provide evidence that you had informed the buyer, and attempted to resolve the issue. otherwise they may just delete all the emails they have received from you, and claim that you never sent them. (not guaranteed, but its a possibility and worth covering yourself :good:)
