what would be the going rate for a proven large pair of convict cichlids (4.0 & 3.5 inches)

£10 £20 £30....more

i know its general opinion but it would help. thanks :)

I would say £10,

I sold my pair for £20 with about 50 fry at 1cm ! , and I only got 1 interested buyer from aquarist classifieds, after about 2 weeks !

no way £10 im afraid.

they sell for about £1.50-£2.00 in LFS's and im afraid 3"-4" isnt really large.

dont get me wrong, i love my cons (all 7 of them) but cos they breed soooo easily then there not worth much at all.

You'll be lucky to sell them at all really - they're so common most LFS are sick of having them in so wont buy them off you, they breed so easily. That's why you see so many free to a good home, or for a couple of quid, on Ebay or Aquarist Classifieds, they're ten a penny.

I would probably ask £10 but only for bartering's sake - be prepared for either a long wait, or for them to go for less ;)
