I have recently bought 5 male guppys (the stockist didn't have any females in stock) and 5 platies to start off my brand new tank. The poor platies are staying hidden away behind the rocks most of the time, as the guppys are chasing them and seem to be nipping their fins. :( I thought they were docile fish!
Also, when the platies do have the courage to venture out, they're eating the plants. Is there a 'plant substitute' that can be put in the tank to stop them eating them, please? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

I just asked a similar question to you about silver dollars eating my plants. I was advised to use some vegetables to stop them eating the plants. But just to keep them in your tank for 12 hours or it will start to taint your water.

Goodluck!! :good:

Thanks. I thought perhaps that could be an answer, but what sort of veggies, though. Cucumber maybe?
