Hello all,

Please see attached image, had him for about 4 months without any issues. However noticed this morning that he has a new white patch on his head, instantly checked the water didn’t find any spikes or issues but did a 50% water change just in case as I can’t test for everything. He lives in a planted aquarium with small gravel bog wood and some smooth rocks, he can and does squeeze himself through plants and things so wondering if he caught himself and what I can see is his body repairing but this is my first experience of this and wanted to seek advice as I’m new to the hobby, otherwise he is behaving and feeding as normal. Thank you kindly

He is beautiful! From the picture, it looks more blue, is it raised or like a bump? It also could just be his pattern. Could also be a little scab from rubbing on something. If he is behaving and feeding normally, it *shouldn't* be anything to worry about. Keep an eye on it for a few weeks, and keep doing weekly 30-40% water changes.

Thank you! He’s my first betta and I’m besotted 😂 so I think it’s quite white but it could be that it’s more transparent i think the light and my phone camera is giving it the blue tint, it’s 100% new on him today as we have a morning meeting each day and he has a quite solid black head so this new mark stands out. I can’t see any raising on it or lump so to speak. Thank you for the guidance, tbh my first reaction was to order loads of medicines but then I researched and saw that can be terrible as a knee jerk reaction as well as it should be a last resort. So I took a breathe and thought it best to come to a site like this. I’ll keep a very close eye on it and see how it goes but thank you for the reassurance
