Probably about the end of feburary, it just gets top ups because of the evaporation now.

these pictures are about a month old i will try and get some more, it simply keeps on improving, if i do say so myself

looks like theres no or very minimal algae as well. I wish i had the balls to take water changes to a month, i get to 2 weeks and feel impulsed to do one.

just trust the plants, monitor the fish, any signs of unusual behavior then change the water, but if your plants are growing there should be no need in a low tech tank.

I do get some algae,

green spot: minimal cases on the glass-easily solved with an algae scraper and then a fair bit on the older anubias leaves, nothing i can do about that, just have to let it be, food for my plecs though

Small case of cyno inbetween substrate and glass-solved by credit card(no spending involved)

I brought the background, with the contasnt water marks from opening the hood, i couldnt stand any film background. So, this is a 3D marina "Bark" background, made out of polystyrene, im sure a DIY jobby could be done for those who have the patience

It sure is, apart from tiny algae issues. thanks, no, its actually Ludwigia repens 'Rubin', a very nice plant, the red has slightly faded as expected due to the lower lighting on thsi one though.
