Wow so it's ok to use that. I know my lfs sells sand for aquariums but it's about £1.99 for a small bag, but I see those play sand bags are 15kg's worth for £2.99. Going to convert a tank to sand so that would be great and save a little.

You can also use pool filter sand, which I'm going to start hunting for this week. With any play or pool sand, be sure to rinse it, and rinse it, and rinse it before you put it in your tank. But yes, it's safe.

Awesome, sounds more economically viable. Yes plenty of washes. How high do you fill it. I know you shouldn't do too much otherwise toxic gases can build up.
