Adding gravel

If I wanted to add more gravel to my tank would I have to just wash it or do you have to boil it to get rid of any nasty-ness?

I wash and boil!!!!!! Certainly does the job i'd say!

I went to put some new plant in and found that I didn't have enough to bury the roots!
So I think another 25kg is in order.

I just soak/rinse mine to get rid of any dust and I've never had a problem with it.

I wash out as much residue as i can and then add a couple of kettles full of boiling water, swill it about and let it stand for a few minutes. Then wrince off and add.

I just wash, although I imagine I should boil too, but I've never had a problem.
