I have four angel fish in quarantine. Presently I have two 55g established tanks. One has two Angels in it and the other four. If I am able I would prefer five total in each tank. My question is would it be okay to add just one to the tank with four already in it. Hope this makes sense. Other option is to just keep four in the one and six in the other.

How old are the fish in question and what size are they? Do you see a pecking order has evolved in either tank? Have any pairs formed? Angels, like most cichlids, are tricky when it comes to group behavior. All you can do is try it and keep a watchful eye and net ready if it doesn't work out.

Thanks for reply. The fish are same size. Think I'll use a transparent tank divider for a bit before introducing them to others. No pecking order seems established but one tank is all males. Quarantine tank are unsure.

Excellent idea. I meant to suggest that. Keep us posted and good luck.
