Adding clown loaches

After looking around quite a bit, I've spotted a few other loach varieties that I'd like to add. Will my current clown be as happy with other members of the loach family, or do I still need to add clowns (plus another breed or two...)? Are there any other loaches that get along with clowns really well? The only varieties I've spotted locally are the Dojo & the Queen loach, although I'm sure I could order a few different varietes from the LFS.

None of the other varieties are definates, this is still in the research phase. And yes, I know that I'll have to get a bigger tank

Or maybe two more tanks...

At the moment in my tank I have 3 clown loaches and 3 botia striatas and the only way you could get the two different types of loach apart from each other is if you took one species out and put them in a different tank. Botyuia striatas/zebra loaches can grow to about 3 inches and will happily swim aroung with clown loaches and be like a colony!

About the dissapearing loaches. Check the floor....I had a shark dissapear out of my tank once. A month later my room smelt like red lobster and I found the crispy critter under by dresser.

P.s oscar lover, bragging with get ya nowhere. Also, I think you take after the fish you love so much too well. You are aggressive, I wouldnt reccomend housing you with peaceful fish. Lol

We have 8 clown loahes in our tank, we have had them for around 3 yrs, they are still at the biggest 5-6 inches big, they are very slow growers indeed.

if u wanted u could add at least 6 tigerbarbs and maybe 2 or 3 loaches. The Clowns and the Tiger Barbs will school together because they have the same coloring. I have 7 tiger barbs and 5 clowns and they all school together. ITs pretty cool.

The Clowns are very slow growers. Ive had 2 of them longer than the other three and over a 1 year period they only grew an inch and just thickened up. I have 5 in a 60 gallon and i doubt they will outgrow it for at least 2 years, by which time i plan on having at least a 200 gallon :)
