I went to the pet store today and bought 2.something lbs of live rock for my established tank. I asked the employee there if it was cured, he said yes, but when we went back to get the rock(s), he said it was a very recent shipment and it was just in a tub of salt water along with the other rocks... I am trying to slowly build my LR because my tank is already established. It is a 30 gallon hex. tank with about 10 +/- lbs of live rock that are doing fine. I also have 3 damsels from the beginning, a CC star, purple reef lobster, a few small hermits and snails... Am I in trouble here or is that small amount not that big of a deal? I would of preferred the rocks to be in a tank curing a little better, but I'm not sure what he sold me exactly.... Any info would definitively help.. I don't have the resources to cure them myself in an extra tank or vat.... Thanks

Test for ammonia, embrace the anxiety, and cross your finger. IN the future, remember how nervous you feel now and never buy something without knowing what it is and what it means to your tank before you put it in...

Yah it was a pretty dumb move on my part, so they were only in the tank for 2 hours, I pulled them, put them in a bucket of salt water, pulled my power head and put it in there... Hopefully I can get it to cure... I'd rather not of taken the power head out. but the tank was basically without it for much of its existence... Now when Im curing, do I need lighting?? I have 2 crazy animals that are licking thier chops to get in the bucket, and Id rather have the lid mostly on...

Well I've just decided to scrap the whole project, I'd rather not lose anything in my tank for $8.00 of crappy LR... In the future, I guess I know now what to look for and what to do...Lesson Learned... Hopefully nothing happened with that LR in my tank for a few hours
