added a new cory catfish and it flipped over in the bag

Cories are shoaling fish which need others of their own species - at least 6 of them.

can I put 6 of them in a 20g tank with other fish?

right now I have
6 neon tetras
5 fancy guppies
3 red eye tetra
1 cory catfish ( its either a panda or bandit, not sure)
5 danios (not sure what type. they are on the smaller side. brown with a black stripe on the side.)

is it over-stocked?

20H or 20L?

Those redeyes can be quite nippy, especially with inadequate numbers...ALL tetras need to be in groups to be comfortable, 8 at the absolute minimum

The other ones are cherrybarbs Connor.
The Cory is a wildcaught fish (can't see the exact species) that is on unsuitable substrate (sorry to say). To be honest I'd return it and buy multiple corys when the substrate is different.

Tey to add some floaters / coverage from above. The neons will start swimming higher ib the tank cause they feel more secure that way.

In the worst case scenario think about making a sandbeach in a part of the tank and get it some company afterwards.
