Acrylic Or Glass?

Hey guys,

Looking for a bit of advice. I'm not sure which tank to buy.

Acrylic or Glass?

Which type is better?

Is there a huge difference?

Glass is heavier then acrylic, and some acrylic is clearer then glass but it scratches easier then glass. Also certain manufacturers will only use glass, and some only use acrylic. Unless theres something specific you need one over the other for, it doesn't matter much. How large is the tank going to be?

I'm a big fan of glass myself. I mentioned this in the chat room earlier but I tend to scrape up acrylic too much. Glass is much more forgiving. The two things acrylic has going for it is the lighter weight and it is very clear. Glass can be tented depending on the lead content and other factors. My reef is 210 gallons and it's glass. It's a heavy beast of a tank but it won't bow under the weight like some acrylic tanks can over time.
