Just received 15 snails from "Des!" and I'm presuming that I should acclimitise them similarly to fish (few pippettes of tank water every 10-15 minutes).

Each snail came in a seperate bag, wrapped in a very moist bit of kitchen towel. What concerns me is that it is not going to take much of my tank water to overwhelm theeir original water on the kitchen towel!

Should I continue pippette dripping, or should I just place them in the tank?

Well, to be honest, biologically speaking, other than temperature acclimation, these water mixing methods (over such a short time period) do nothing at all. Any chemical etc. elements of the environment won't show effects untill much mich later (dependent on source).

Its best to avoid stress, equalise temp (if you can - i.e. animals not bagged too long), and release.

There are no benefits to 'gradual water mixing' its a myth I'm afraid :)
