How do you do it? Are they not meant to leave the water at all? I can't remember but had a feeling I read somewhere that they shouldn't have contact with air or am I making that up? If that was the case, do you have to add the old bag water into your tank or is there a better way to do it? Do they need drip acclimatise or just floating?
Sorry I was just thinking about it and got confused

There are a few things that should not be lifted into air, but probably nothing you are likely to buy at the moment - so, acclimatise and then just lift out of the water and place in tank :good:

sorry weeza for jumping in on your thread but..

I am just wonder how long corals take to atach to the rock?

pulsing xenia, apparently if you put a band to hold it down it will attach in 2-3 days

Good question Fishy! I've found fingers and toadstools quite quick, about a month provided they aren't moved at all. Skeleton based a lot longer but depends on Wht coral. As Sef says - some never do!

Dunno about Xenia - not kept it yet!!

It appears to me it can almost attach straight away  some I have clings on to anything it touches and another bit, well its just stroppy and wont hold on to anything!

Drip acclimatise? In bucket? haha Im such a noooooob! I also didnt even think about how to attach them.... It will be a while til I get any as need to sort my lights out first!

I have to mount my halides! Still waiting on a reply from allpondsolutions as to whether their suspension kit will work with my halide unit! There is only 1 T8 in there just for light atm!

If the xenia is happy then it will attach very quick. When I first added my xenia, after just 24 hours i moved it again and one small piece had attached itself to a nearby rock. That piece is growing really well and it's not in direct light either.
