OMG, the half-and-half is adorable... very strange to see one like that!

Yeah I understand, and all the ones I thought were from wuv were indeed from her. Maybe she can confirm, is the orange boy second one down the brother to my little daddy? It's so funny thinking about the amount of fry, and how they are all over the country each leading completely different lives :D

Second one down, second one down....*searches all of your sigs and get lost*
Not sure riogal, am I looking at your sig? :*)

I love seeing the babes go off to new lives all over  It's so cool!

redbetta~ This spawn was kinda weird. I didn't even notice eggs, I only noticed the orange male being very, very territorial over a nest so I started to drain the tank and jar everyone that day. THEN I noticed eggs stuck to the glass so in a panic I removed the dad and the eggs and put him in a one gallon. There were a few eggs left so I scraped them off with a card and swished them in a jar. The dad, naturally, ate the eggs he had. I can't blame him, he was totally flipped out.

I had about a dozen hatch in the jar, and eight survived after some planaria somehow ( :grr: ) found their way in and began to eat fry. I almost died when I saw the planaria so I syphoned each baby out with an eyedropper and put them in the clean one gallon.

It was really my most adventerous spawn ever :S So, long story, I have eight of them from that guy

By the way, SRC, lmao @ wuv'ed

Aww, sounds like a very neat story, I love the orange bettas...

*redbettathinkingwhereelseshecouldputabettacauseshereallywantsanorangeone...*

lol She means Bui, Mr. Pouty Britches, the larger orange male you sent me Kelly. She wants to know if he is her fishes brother.

oh, OK! :*)
Definitely a brother  He's an older brother from a different spawn, but the same parents, riogal.

That's awesome. I knew it had to be, they are identical!! I can't wait until they are ready, in the meantime I will be trying to make enough room! :p

It's funny how we can look at sigs now and see who the bettas breeders were! When I looked at SRC's before I was like those are probably from wuv, and that one has to be from Synirr! And riogal's and SRC's boys look just like the one of mine.

On the note of Rubber Maid containers.....

I just thought I'd mention that at Wal-mart right now...6 quart boxes w/lid are on sale...for $.77 cents each  . :D

Yes, they are the ones that they show for shoes. I picked up 6 for less than $5. How can you beat that? Nice and long, lots of swimming room. No more up and down. :p

Oh, and if that half/half goes green, and orange, I'd name him PUMPKIN. :hey:

You are right, it definitely looks just like mine and SRC's boy. It's funny, b/c I used to think they all looked so different, even from the same spawn, and now that I see your two I realize that some of them are almost identical hehe!
Pumpkin would be a really cute name for him too, I never thought of that.

Man, they have so many different styles right now, it's crazy. I bought some *perfect* clear 5 gallon boxes for 2.50 the other day. Tis the season for plastic containers I guess :dunno:

wuv, do you know what brand they were and where you got them?
i have yet to find perfectly clear tubs... :/

the half and half is awesome

They're actual rubbermaid brand  I found them back in the lawn and garden, they seem to have containers set up in two different areas at my store, and these weren't in the other part so had I not seen them in l&g I wouldn't have seen them at all. I just ran out and bought a couple more :look: Hey, for 2.50 ,ya know :p

They're not perfectly clear but they're some of the clearest I've ever found. The fish have no trouble seeing through them or anything...here's one next to a 2.5. I believe they equal out to about 7 gallons in total.

The one on the left shows the actual clarity. Flash does weird things to containers like that and makes them look more opaque than they are in person.
