Hey there,

Just read on a french forum that (here please, sit comfy), it is possible to house (well seated?) 80 to 100 Danio margaritatus (aka Celestial Pearl Danio aka Galaxy rasbora) in a 96 liters/21 gal, sizing 23 x 16 x 16 inches being 60 x 40 x 40 cm...... Yeah you're reading it right !!! I swear it's a real topic. I can post the link here if needed.
I had to rub my eyes and had to read it through five times because I couldn’t :no:believe:no: what I had just read....... and still cannot😬 :hyper: 😱😈:<🤪😲
I also swear it's NOT an April 1st in advance.

Many things are possible, but why???? I'm not sure what the appeal would be of a tank like that, unless you like stadium stairways in the ten minutes after an event ends, or school hallways between classes.

Its possible but not advisable in around 100 litres a school of 30-40 could be possible with a good footprint, filtration, planting and maintenance but double that is too many and likely to cause water quality issues.

Just because a few people discuss it or even try it with success a handful of times does not mean its something to jump on board with or even panic about when people discuss it - people keep fish in all kinds of horrendous ways, in some respects people need to so we know what not to do.

Problem is, he is NOT talking about 30-40 on what I would have agreed but 80 to 100 !!

No more opinions ???
I have another... It's a VERY crowded tank... Wayyy to crowded... Like Gary said: "What is the appeal of having that"... It just wouldnt look good at all...

According to the topic author : to favorise soaling behavior....

Having that many fish might well be possible in such as small volume of water

But would it be right and humane?

I do not think so.

Just cos it can be done, does not mean that it should be done.

It isn't a shoaling fish. That's simply a person who has a very superficial knowledge of the fish he/she keeps, and is proud to try to lead others into the disaster they have in their tanks.

Or, and this is very common, it's someone trying to get other posters outraged by intentionally stating something idiotic and cruel just to enjoy the tiny power of annoying others.

Sure, it's perfectly fine, I'd add even more

After all, it's OK to keep bettas in cups at the pet stores, right?
