what plants can you get in SA? id be interested in seeing some pics with more 'local' type of plants :)

I have ordered lots through both Java and greenline web sites before, both are of good quality, but I found Java ones slightly better and better packaging, with names and planting suggestions etc.

Hi Ginge,

Thought I would add a reply about Tropical Aquarium Plants... I cant say a bad word about them, but then my wife Laura is the one that runs it! Her web is alittle more basic, but she's in the process of upgrading it now. Also, there are alot of plants that she is able to get that are not on the site, if there is anything specific give her an email... Be cheeky and ask for a free Nymphea bulb... I feel sure she'll add one in with an order! As I say, if you needany advice on what to get etc go through it with her... [email protected] she is always more than happy to assist.

Hi Mad

Well let me put it this way.The plants in SA is really bad.The ones people are importing and also those who grow them them selfs.

The natural plants in SA rivers and dams do not do well in aqariums seeing that 99% is cold water plants and rot in warm water. My Dad have a farm with very nice plants but as I said only cold water.

Basically SA is not a very good place for aqatic plants.Only get them in summer here anyway.
