Bah I think I wasted about £20 on carib-sea "livesand". Doesnt look like it did much, just smelt pretty bad.

well look at it this way, you didnt need to rinse it.... You need to rinse dry sand..... And i hate rinsing sand, you dont want to rinse 150 pounds of silica home depot play sand for a 75 gallon tank... its not pretty..... (freshwater, no need to go on about how silica is bad for saltwater)

Yeah, it's my opinion also that 'live sand' is a waste of money....snake oil.

better to just spend the money on live rock instead.

Anyone know what these are? I'm thinking it might be some type of anemone.
Theres a few in and around my live rock, and does seem to close when I touch it. Also closes at random times during the day.
