Hi,

When i read so often about removing any uneaten food after 2 mins or so of feeding - how on earth do I do this ? I feed a couple of pinches of flake food which breaks up into thousands of pieces and sinks. The fish get most but not all. It just is not possible to remove uneaten food.

Question 2 is - my gourami has developed 4 red/white spots. My first thoughts were ich but ive seen that and these are just 4 largish white spots with a pinkish colour around them. It looks like a parasite bursting out but what could this be ? ive only heard of a similar thing being ich and that would be thousands of small white spots ? Dont know what to medicate.

Thks for any help.

Rob

If there is excess food on the bottom of the tank it will rot and must be removed. If it is not feasible to do this daily then try every other day or 2 times a week. I just use the syphon but dont push into the gravel just skim over the top of the gravel and pick up any excess food bits and assorted other goodies :p
Have a look here to see if anything fits as it is very hard to guess at these sorts of things and this sounds kind of serious. Keep us posted. HTH

Thanks tstenback. Hard for me to pick out the right one from that list too ! Will keep for future ref.
