Hi, thanks for yor replies on using cycle, first i got the impression you were talking about cycling a tank, i was talking about what you add after weekly water change, where do you add it in the external filter or in the tank. Now can any one tell me if bio-spira can be found in the uk as that is where i am, i have not heard of bactinnette but i do know about a capsule type called bactozyme. This i can get is it any good.

No you can't get bio spira over here, the cycle just add it to the tank water till the tank has cycled, just follow the instruction, it's been that long since i've used it.

Cycle (the product) is pretty much useless in my opinion and also of most others too. I don't think there are really any useful bacteria in the bottle. I've never hear of the bactozyme but as a general rule, any product that is shipped and stored un-refrigerated can't contain much if any good bacteria. They can't withstand the high temperatures they encounter. If it is refrigerated as Bio-Spira is, then it may be a good product.
