Long story short, a mouse had babies in my fiance's motorcycle sometime last night or this morning. My fiance is not quite the mouse lover that I am, so he just took them out and put them in a cardboard box. He left them all day, and said he never saw the mother come back.
So now I have 3 baby mice in my room in a kritter keeper with cut up tshirts and a lamp over them. I've been feeding them kitten milk replacer, and they seem to be eating OK... Does anyone know anything else I can do, or if they will survive?
Thanks!

The method used for hamsters should work okay for mice.

Edit: Almost forgot. Good luck! If they're REALLY young, they probably won't survive, but it's VERY good of you to try.

Thank you! They are very young, maybe a day at the most. They are so small, poor little guys.

That's crazy that she would pick a place like a motorcycle...

Good luck with them, Kara!

What an odd place for a mouse to have babies. Has she returned yet looking for her babies???I bet she has worried herself to death over her young.I feel sorry for thier mother. It was probally her first batch and she just didnt no what to do. Or she could be like some of these dumb mothers her in Ky just dont give a damn..Anyways my hat does off to you for taking them in. My boyfriend would have killed them. Or should I say my brothers would have done that,

Mice are notorious for having babies in odd places, like cars, tractors, and motorcycles. I don't know if and why they do this. But if she was scared off she may never return.

Edited: Because I got bit by a dog at work today and have stitches in my one hand and it's up in a sling which means horrid typing w/ one hand. :(

German shep. they were fighting and I tried to get out of the way and he got my hand instead.

How are the mice doing? We havent heard anything from you on these I would like to know if they lived or not.. Please reply and let us know..

Maybe the motorcycle was warm/not drafty/high and she felt it a nice warm, dry place to store her young. :/

One of my friends found some in his car..they had gotten up underneath where the cup holder is..in the middle console...and he kept hearing something scraping and squeaking...took it apart and voila...baby mice....I'm not sure what he did with them though.

I just thought that was odd for a mouse to have her babies in a motorcycle. I am always on my motorcycle a mouse wouldnt have time to get in thier and have babies. I just couldnt figure that one out. I am still wondering about the mice if they live died or what.
