Aaron's 216l Planted Journal!

whats the advantage of having the pump for a water change? i will have a small powerhead of my little filter, can i use that the way you are using yours?
and where did you get all the stuff from (inc scales)

i attach the hosepipe to the pump, then turn it on - automatic drainage :D No more buckets.
Then to refill the tank, i just detach the pump and attach it to the kitchen tap with a hose/ tap connector

Shpuld be done in 30mins without breaking a sweat lol.

filters can be used, so can anything as long as it is powerful enough, which "stuff" are you reffering too? The powders? if so i got them from fluidsensor online which come to a total of £25 inc. P+P

lol Fred, i have been excited all day today, i had about 5 different parcels come lol. Ans the carpet has been fitted which means i can buill my stand and finally clear my room!

Nice pics!

Can the Aqua Basis Plus be used as straight substrate, or do you HAVE to put another type of substrate on top of it?

Also, is the Aqua Soil, the bag below the the Aqua soil Plus, is that good for growing plants?

powders, i also got a free, large pippette which would be useful for spot dosing if need be.

You will be amazed how useful large syringes can be mate. Small ones too! I have a couple of dispensing syringes from my hospital days and I use them for nearly everything lol!

Thing is, I have yet to find a liquid measuring vessel that remotely matches up with another even the two slightly different hospital dosage syringes give different readings for the same amount of liquid

BTW You can get shampoo type bottles on ebay which are great for dispensing liquid ferts into the tank :good:

Thanks, it needs capping because when disturbed it is messy,
Aquasoil is the best substrate out there. That can be used alone.

strange lol, i shall be storing the liquids in tropica nutrition bottles, then useing the syringe to measure.
I have added a bit of CO2 airline onto the end so it reaches into the bottle B-) lol

looks good aaron, how much do they cost, i have always thought they are really expensive

£30 delivered for the 17mm. they are off ebay from Hong Kong or China.

not too bad, i needed an intake/ output anyway and the tetratec spare were £15 each!

hopefully that should explain. They unique shape makes sure the flow is distributed throughout the tank evenly. Not only that they are aesthetically pleasing too :)
