Aagghh! My Poor Bettas!

heeeellp! a ffew nights ago my female betta got past the divider and the male and female started fighting! when i woke up this morning, the female had a few rough edges on her fins but the males were totally eaten away! i put the female into a separate place. the males fins started to grow back, but the grown parts of its fins are just a pale red and blue....

The regrowth will be clear to start with then after a few weeks the colour starts to grow back. He will need lots of water changes to prevent infections

My first experience with keeping bettas and being told you could keep a male with females the female was more aggressive then the male who was bigger then she was she also killed him while I was at school I will never do it again

i have no idea. i didnt find any holes of paths they could have gone thru. maybe she jumped?

You have to keep the divider a bit above the water line in case they can jump over it.

My dividers are about an inch and a bit above the waterline which is as much as the hood would let me. If you can't make them higher, take some of the water out.

My divider is about 2 1/2" above the water level. the tank has a flat glass top and the divider touches the top. Hope your boy is much better now.

So glad that his fins are growing back. I hope you haven't told him he looks like a girl! Mind you,- one of mine was sold as a girl and turned out to be a boy! He's been ultra macho ever since just to show us he's all man!!
