Aaarghhgh It Doesn't Work :-( :-(

I'm trying to setup my tank with the 2nd Hand Eheim 2229 Wet/dry filter that came with my tank. I had it working on my old tank to build up the bacteria colonies but when I transfered it to my new tank it just doesn't want to work. I've read all the manuals and FAQ's on this filter and none of them have helped.

Does anyone have any experiance with this filter? The problem is that the filter fills as per normal and the water goes round but the wet/dry compartment does not empty and cycle. I've read This the relevent section being "Float is Up : Filter will not Empty" and it seems very similar to the problem I have, but I've followed the steps to no avail


I'm absolutely stumped now so any help would be much appreciated. I was wandering if there weren't any DIY solutions, is there someone I can send my Eheim filter to for it to be serviced or repaired?

I had a similar problem with my Whisper. I had turned it off to change the filter and when I pluged it back in it would not run. I ended up taking the bottom off it and spraying the impeller. A bit of leaf had clogged the thing so water wouldn't empty out of the filter.
