Ok so here is the test, I have had these two little cory's for a few years now, the shop that had them not only had them wrongly named but has also shut down so I can't ask them just what they had ordered in. I have narrowed them down to being a C. polystictus but they have many more spots all over the body, than the common one. I did read ages ago about a possible sub species but for the life of me I can not refind the page online.

The first photo is not long after I got them, and they have not been on gravel for a couple of years now. The second photo is more recent.

I would vote polystictus also, looks like a fat female, full of eggs :)

Beautiful barbles aswell, its nice to see them looking long and healthy. I bought 3 Panda's recently that had NO barbles left. Real shame, but they're back now!

Thanks for the replies, looks like I am never destined to get any more of these guys. I just wish I knew what exactly they are, then I MIGHT (huge might/ maybe) be able to find another 1or 2.

Absolutely. But Coryologist hasn't been around much lately. It might be better to send him an email. :)
